Gabe really is a cowboy!

At the southern IL sheep and wool festival, Gabe got to ride a mini stagecoach! Twice.
He actually jumped in with some strange woman ( a mom) and rode out of sight. Then we paid for him and Ayla and cousin Sophie to take a ride- the second time around he wouldn't get out- saying "I'm really a cowboy!"

Haircut and a special message

Gabe got a snazzy new haircut! He did not stop talking the entire time we were at the barber shop and was a big hit. As chance (divine intervention? Much like a lot of things with Gabe's life.) would have it, an old man named Harold, who just turned 102, was getting his haircut in the very chair next to Gabe. The moment felt heavy with importance listening to Gabe chatter about this and that and the old man reminisce between labored breaths about his own first haircut almost a century before. I regret I was too self conscious to snap a photo of him.

Speaking of old men... (hee hee). Happy Birthday Uncle Alex! We made a sign and everything!

A fun day with Twactors

This past sunday, we all needed some sunshine and fresh air, so we took a drive out in the country. After dinner, Gabe and Ayla headed over to Memaw and Pa's house to find a new (old) Allis Chalmers "G" that Pa was able to find. At the same estate sale, Pa found a John Deere "gator" and Gabe was kind enough to take Ayla for a spin.

Little Prince

Memaw made Gaby a crown. He's been requesting one for a while.
He's feeling a lot better this week and has had opportunities to play outside in the nice weather!!

Feelin Blue

Poor Gabe has been sick this week. He's feeling a lot better lately though, and we're all wishing for warmer weather.

Phat Fiver

Gabe says I"m a good Phat Fiver Mommie. The boxes look like towers for about a day until the postman comes to pick them up!

Mid Winter fun

Serious "kitchen table" talks become less serious....
